Wimborne Wine Society started life as a Wine Circle in 1967 when 13 local winemakers met to share information with each other about wine making techniques.

Eventually the Circle joined The Dorset Federation which had over 20 circles from all over Dorset as members. Home wine making then became less popular and many Wine Circles lost membership and closed down. With this in mind the Wimborne Wine Society was born in October 2003 aiming to enable members to enjoy and learn about commercial wines in a relaxed and informal way.

Since then the Society has grown its membership to become one of the most successful in Dorset.

The Society usually meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Wimborne Community Centre on King Street in Wimborne, where members enjoy a wine tasting/presentation by a guest speaker or by another member. There are also social events such as a Christmas Party and Skittles evenings.

On joining, new members are supplied with a set if ISO wine tasting glasses, which should be brought to subsequent tasting presentations.

Annual membership fee currently stands at £25 p.a. per person.

From OCTOBER 2021

Our meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm at Wimborne Community Centre, at

41-44 King St,

BH21 1EA.

A tasting fee of £10 per attendee will apply - for which a tasting of 5 or 6 wines over the course of the evening is supplied.

If you would like to join us or have any queries, please contact us using the 'Contact Us' tab above. One of the committee will reply as soon as possible.
